Jorge Garza-Vargas

I'm a Postdoctoral Scholar in Caltech's Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, supervised by Joel Tropp.

I'm broadly interested in algorithms, discrete mathematics, functional analysis, and probability. I've worked on projects related to analytic theory of polynomials, free probability, numerical linear algebra, random matrix theory, and spectral theory.

I got my Ph.D. from the mathematics department at UC Berkeley, where I was co-advised by Nikhil Srivastava and Dan-Virgil Voiculescu. Here is my thesis, CV, and Google Scholar.
