I'm a Postdoctoral Scholar in Caltech's Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, supervised by Joel Tropp.
I'm broadly interested in algorithms, discrete mathematics, functional analysis, and probability. Currently I'm focusing on the following two (more or less orthogonal) research directions:
- Providing rigorous mathematical analyses for relevant randomized numerical linear algebra algorithms.
- Tackling problems from random matrix theory and analytic theory of polynomials from a free probability perspective. Especially in the (less explored from a free probability standpoint) non-asymptotic regime, i.e. when the dimension or the degree is fixed.
I got my Ph.D. from the mathematics department at UC Berkeley, where I was co-advised by Nikhil Srivastava and Dan-Virgil Voiculescu. Here is my thesis, CV, and Google Scholar.
